Cardiopulmonary staff, Hubbuch named Shining Stars



Baptist Health La Grange recently recognized a department and an individual as Shining Stars.Cardiopulmonary Services staff, from left: Bridgit Russell, Cheryl Meadows, Debbie Santillan and Lisa Houle Shining Stars are recognized for going above and beyond outside the workplace.

The Cardiopulmonary Services (CPS) department was recognized for helping a former patient. The staff found out that a former patient who had stage IV cancer and had much damage to her lungs from treatments did not have air conditioning in her home. Because of other medical circumstances, she was unable to go to relatives’ homes to escape the heat, but struggled with breathing. When CPS staff found out about her situation, they came up with enough money to purchase a new air conditioning unit for the patient’s home and surprised her with it.

Dawn HubbuchDawn Hubbuch, Patient Access, was recognized after assisting someone who was injured in an auto accident, staying with the victim until help arrived.
