Walmart clinic opens June 21
Walmart and Baptist Hospital Northeast will open “The Clinic at Walmart” operated by Baptist Hospital Northeast at the La Grange Walmart on Monday, June 21. A ribbon-cutting will be at 10 a.m. that day. The convenient care clinic will provide fast, affordable access to basic healthcare services such as check-ups, immunizations, screenings and minor injuries. The walk-in health clinic is the first to be owned and operated by Baptist Hospital Northeast in a Kentucky Walmart. The clinic will be open for walk-in service 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
“In collaboration with Walmart, Baptist Healthcare System is embarking on a statewide initiative to offer clinics throughout Kentucky,” said Tommy Smith, president and CEO of Baptist Healthcare System. “This is one of numerous clinic openings planned for 2010.”
“By joining with Walmart to operate The Clinic at Walmart, Baptist Hospital Northeast is one step closer to ensuring the health and wellness of our community,” said Dennis Johnson, administrator of Baptist Northeast. “Our clinic is staffed with licensed healthcare providers, even on nights and weekends, so families can receive quality care without a long wait. It also helps ease the burden on our emergency rooms, which aren’t designed to treat everyday illnesses such as sore throats."
