Tips and services for visitors
This information is provided to help acquaint patients' family members and friends with Baptist Health La Grange's policies, facilities and visiting hours.
eCards Let a new mother know you're thinking about her while she's in the hospital by sending an electronic greeting. eCards are delivered free of charge once a day on weekdays (excluding holidays).

Physician referral Looking for a physician? Baptist Health La Grange's Physician Referral Service can help.
Cots. Cots are available for family members who wish to stay overnight with a patient. Ask the patient's nurse to make the arrangements.
Firearms. Firearms are not allowed in the hospital, unless a law enforcement officer is guarding a prisoner or performing other official duties.
Gift Shop. Located off the hospital's main lobby, the Gift Shop is staffed by Baptist Health La Grange volunteers. Items available in the Gift Shop include magazines, flowers and toiletries. The Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, noon-5 p.m. For more information, call (502) 222-5306.
Mail and flowers. Mail is delivered to patients once a day, Monday through Friday, by hospital volunteers. Mail received for a patient after discharge will be forwarded to the patient's home. Please address mail as follows:

Our volunteers also deliver flowers sent by family members and friends directly to patient rooms.
Smoking. Baptist Health La Grange recognizes the health risks associated with active and passive smoke and has a responsibility to its patients, visitors, medical staff and employees to provide a healthy environment. Therefore, smoking by physicians, visitors and employees is not permitted on our campus.
Telephones. Family members and friends may call the hospital operator at (502) 222-5388 to get the direct telephone number to a patient's room. Calls to patient rooms are not accepted between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. to make sure our patients get adequate rest. All patients may make outgoing calls at any hour.
Visiting hours. Having visitors can help the patient's recovery process. However, rest is also an important part of the patient's convalescence. General visiting hours for relatives and friends are 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m. daily. Any visitors spending the night should register for a visitor's pass in the registration area.
Special visiting policies have been established:
- The Women's Center
Visiting hours are 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Parents, grandparents and siblings may visit the baby in the mother's room. Children of patients in The Women's Center may visit during regular visiting hours. (Other children age 13 and under are not permitted to visit with the newborn infants.)
Visitors are welcome to eat in the hospital's cafeteria at the following times:
Breakfast: 6:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. (Monday-Friday)
Lunch: 11:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. (every day)
The cafeteria closes for the day at 1:15 p.m. During hours when the cafeteria does not provide meals, visitors may purchase beverages and snacks at the Refreshment Center, a vending area located inside the cafeteria. The Refreshment Center is equipped with a microwave and vending machines offering canned soft drinks, coffee and a variety of snack foods, including some hot food items. Machines take change or $1 and $5 bills. To report a problem with a vending machine or for a refund, call Nutritional Services at (502) 222-3501.
If you prefer to eat with a patient, a guest tray may be ordered through the patient's nurse. There is a $5 charge for each guest tray. Guest trays are not usually reimbursed by insurance companies. A free guest tray is available for the parent or guardian of patients under 12.
