MRI at Baptist Health La Grange
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a painless imaging technique used to produce high-quality images of the soft tissues inside the body using radio frequencies.
MRI can be used to look at very small blood vessels in the brain to spot aneurysms, or identify plaque build-ups in the carotid arteries that might lead to a future stroke. Blood flow problems can be diagnosed in patients with phlebitis or diabetes. for orthopedic patients, MRI can help diagnose some of the most complex joints in the body, such as the shoulder and pelvis. It can also detect subtle damage to the spine and joints in patients with herniated disks and arthritis.
