Infusion therapy



The Baptist East Home Health Agency offers home infusion therapy as an alternative to lengthy hospitalizations for patients from Oldham, Henry and Trimble counties who can safely be cared for at home. 

Infusion services provided include:

  • Intravenous antibiotics and antivirals
  • Total parenteral nutrition (TPN)
  • Intravenous diuretics
  • Pain management
  • Chemotherapy
  • Aerosolized and intravenous pentamidine therapy
  • Hydration and electrolyte replacement
  • Injections of Interferon, Neupogen or Apogean
  • Inotropic therapy
  • Maintenance/teaching about intravenous access devices


The infusion team is comprised of experienced infusion nurses who are active members of the National Intravenous Nurses Society. The agency uses a needleless injection system which is easy for the nurse, patient and family members to use. Infusion pumps are available for therapy when needed.

The agency provides comprehensive services, including:

  • Home evaluation
  • Patient and family teaching
  • Case management
  • Delivery of supplies
  • Initiation of venous access via peripheral, midline or PIC
  • Ongoing communication with the attending physician
  • Holistic approach to care
  • 24-hour on-call service and consultation
