Cardiac Rehabilitation at Baptist Hospital Northeast
Cardiac RehabBaptist Hospital Northeast's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program is designed for patients who have experienced a heart attack or coronary artery bypass grafting, or who suffer from angina. The Cardiac Rehab Program focuses on developing a heart-healthy lifestyle through exercise, proper diet and control of daily stress.

Phase II
Phase II cardiac rehabilitation concentrates on helping heart patients make necessary changes in their habits. It includes monitored exercise, diet, education and counseling. This phase usually starts four to six weeks after a heart attack or major surgery. Physician referral and a treadmill test are required for participation. Many insurance companies will cover most of the Phase II program.

Phase III
Phase III is designed to help patients maintain the fitness levels they achieved during the Phase II program. It includes medically supervised exercise. Cardiac Rehabilitation staff members work with Phase III patients to determine health goals. They conduct yearly reviews of patients' risk factors and stress tests.
